How to care for your designer swimwear

Is designer swimwear worth the price tag? 100% Yes! We have been selling luxury swimwear and beachwear to our lovely customers for over 14 years and as most of our staff have trial and tested many of our brands over the years we all agree that it is definitely worth the price tag and has the longevity, fit and quality you would expect from designer swimwear.

This said, the way you care for your swimwear has a major impact on how long it will last. We have created the ultimate swimwear care guide to make sure your getting the most life out of your designer bikinis and swimsuits.

ultimate guid on how to care for swimwear

  • Rinse immediately after use to clean any sea salt, sand or chemically treated pool water.
  • Do not machine wash, gently hand wash in cold water if possible after use instead.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Dry in the shade, if a colourful swim piece is left to dry in the sun this could cause the colour fade quicker overtime.
  • Be mindful of colour fade when in chemically treated water
  • Highly chlorinated pools can loosen fabrics overtime, we recommend limiting time spent in these environments and rinsing after use.   If you spend a lot of time in the pool, it will damage the fabric, leaving it stretched and faded.
  • Fake tan products can leave marks and affect the colour of your swim, take extra care when applying and if possible avoid using with lighter swimwear.
  • We advise you don’t wear your designer swimwear in a jacuzzi or sauna as this can cause damage.
  • Sunscreen can also cause yellowing on white bikinis and swimsuits, we recommend rinsing immediately after use with a mild detergent to remove any residue.

We always recommend following the above when investing in designer swimwear and keep your holiday wardrobe looking fresh season after season.
