Sarongs are Back

This summer, the sarong is making a comeback and hardly surprising as it's one of the easiest ways to revamp your poolside look.  Sarongs are a versatile piece of fabric that have been a staple in tropical fashion for centuries. They are traditionally worn in Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands, where they are known by different names such as pareo, lungi, or sulu.

One of the best things about sarongs is the numerous ways in which they can be worn. From beach cover-ups to evening wear, sarongs can be styled in many different ways to suit your individual taste and needs.

Ways to wear a sarong

Here are some of the most popular ways to wear a sarong:

  1. Traditional wrap: The traditional wrap involves wrapping the sarong around your waist and tying it at the side. This is a classic look that is perfect for wearing to the beach or pool.
  2. Halter dress: To create a halter dress, fold the sarong in half diagonally to create a triangle. Then, tie the two ends together behind your neck to create a halter neckline. This is a great option for a quick and easy beach cover-up.
  3. One-shoulder dress: For a chic and stylish look, drape the sarong over one shoulder and tie it at the opposite hip. This creates a one-shoulder dress that is perfect for wearing to a beach party or evening event.
  4. Strapless dress: To create a strapless dress, fold the sarong in half lengthwise and wrap it around your chest. Tie it at the back to create a simple yet elegant strapless dress.
  5. Skirt: The sarong can also be worn as a skirt. Wrap it around your waist and tie it at the side or back.  Pair with a white shirt or tshirt for a chic city look.
  6. Head wrap: Fold the sarong in half diagonally to make a triangle. Tie the two corners under your chin, leaving the centre of the sarong hanging down your back. This is a great way to protect your hair from the sun or to keep it out of your face while swimming
